Registered Nurse - Infection Control and Prevention

Trusted Staffe Seeks Registered Nurse - Infection Control and Prevention for Acute Care Hospital in Sanford, NC

Trusted Staffe is partnering with an acute care hospital in Sanford, NC to find a dedicated and qualified Registered Nurse (RN) - Infection Control and Prevention (IC). This is an exceptional opportunity for a passionate RN to play a vital role in protecting patients, staff, and the community from healthcare-associated infections (HAIs).

Responsibilities:

Develop, implement, and monitor infection control policies and procedures to ensure compliance with federal, state, and local regulations.

Conduct surveillance activities to identify outbreaks and potential threats, and implement appropriate control measures.

Investigate and track HAIs, conducting root cause analyses to identify and address contributing factors.

Provide education and training to staff on infection control best practices, including hand hygiene, personal protective equipment (PPE) use, and safe injection techniques.

Collaborate with hospital leadership, physicians, nurses, and other departments to promote a culture of safety and infection prevention.

Maintain accurate and up-to-date records of infection control data and activities.

Stay current on the latest infection control guidelines and best practices through research and professional development activities.

Qualifications:

Minimum Requirements:

Registration and current RN license in the state of North Carolina.

Bachelor of Science in Nursing (BSN) preferred.

Minimum one (1) year of experience in a healthcare setting, with experience in infection control and prevention a plus.

Strong understanding of infection control principles and practices.

Excellent communication, collaboration, and interpersonal skills.

Ability to work independently and as part of a team.

Proficient in Microsoft Office Suite.

Preferred Qualifications:

Certified in Infection Control and Epidemiology (CIC) or Certified in Healthcare Quality (CHQ) certification.

Experience in an acute care hospital setting.

Experience with conducting infection control audits and investigations.

Strong leadership and problem-solving skills.

Excellent data analysis skills.
