Description:
What You Will Do
* Demonstrates knowledge and indications for different types of stress tests.
* Performs diagnostic cardiac exercise stress test on symptomatic cardiac patients. Types of stress tests this position performs include:
* Treadmill stress test (may also include an echocardiogram following the treadmill portion)
* Nuclear stress test
* Pharmacologic stress test
* Works collaboratively with cardiac sonographers, nuclear medical technologists and registered nurses.
* Follows MHSM Cardiovascular protocols for the following: patient assessment, preparation, ECG monitoring for changes, test quality and monitoring patient within the recovery stage.
* Communicates with the Cardiologist regarding any significant abnormal ECG changes.
* Documents appropriate information throughout the entirety for physician interpretation.
* Responsible for cleaning equipment, and for equipment repair notification.
* Performs other related duties as assigned.
What You Will Need
* Bachelor's Degree in Health Science or similar
* Preferred: Bachelor's Degree in Exercise Science or Exercise Physiology
* Basic Cardiac Life Support (BCLS) certification
* Preferred: American College of Sports Medicine (ACSM) Exercise Specialist certification
* 600 hours in clinical stress testing internship
* One year of experience in related field
