Summary

The MIL Corporationseeks aMid to Senior level Systems Administrator (Systems Administration, Senior Analyst)to support a Federal Government client at our Patuxent River, MD location. This is aSystems Administrator role that will manage Microsoft Windows and Red Hat Linux based computer systems in support of the MQ-25 Carrier-Based Aerial-Refueling System program.

This position currently requires an on-site schedule, with 5 days on-site. Schedule is subject to change based on company/contract requirements.

Responsibilities

• Install, configure, administer, support and maintain Microsoft Windows and Linux operating systems
• Administer and support VMware server/cluster environment
• Implement Risk Management Framework (RMF) methodology on assigned systems
• Maintain and update operating system security patches
• Maintain the system configuration standard using DoD based Security Technical Implementation Guides (STIG)
• Troubleshoot hardware and software problems; coordinate resolution with internal technical resources and external vendors
• Document maintenance, repair and test activities; include documentation updates as an integral part of every project
• Follow change control procedures during new implementations and changes to existing systems
• Create and maintain system documentation, diagrams, and Standard Operating Procedures (SOPs)
• Research and implement automated processes to improve operational efficiency
• Analyze and monitor the capacity and performance of systems and software applications and make recommendations for improvements as necessary
• Perform other duties and projects as assigned

Travel

15-20% other sites, as needed

Required Qualifications

• 5-7 years of experience in Microsoft Windows and/or Linux System Administration
• DoD IAT Level II Baseline Certification
• Active Security+ CE certification
• Extensive knowledge of Active Directory, Group Policy, and System Center Configuration Manager (SCCM)
• Ability to work independently and as part of a team
• Excellent verbal and written communication skills
• Frequently required to lift and/or move up to 25 lbs., and occasionally required to lift and/or move up to 40 lbs.

Desired Qualifications

• 7-10 years of senior level System Administrator experience
• Knowledge of Navy systems, networks, and IT infrastructure
• Red Hat Certified System Administrator (RHCSA) is a plus
• Aviation maintenance experience is a plus

Education

Bachelor's degree from an accredited college in a related discipline, or equivalent experience/combined education and/or advanced certification; a Master's degree will be considered in lieu of 2 years of professional experience

Clearance

Salary at MIL is determined based on factors such as qualifications, experience, and contractual limitations. For this position, the projected compensation range is $85,000 - $125,000per year. This estimate represents the typical salary range and is just one part of MIL's complete compensation package.
