QUALIFICATIONS:
Graduate from an accredited school of nursing, current licensure with State Board of Nursing Examiners.
Valid Maryland LPN license
One year of geriatric nursing experience preferred.
JOB SUMMARY:
In accordance with facility policies and procedures, the Licensed Practical Nurse provides clinical evaluation of the direct
care to residents
that is of high quality and under the supervision of the Nurse Manager and
Director of Nursing.
Receives input
from GNAs
and communicates
timely with the RN Staff Nurse to
meet
resident
care
needs.
DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:
Follows the facility's policies and procedures related to the role of the licensed practical nurses.
Addresses resident care needs within the LPN scope of practice. As needed, seeks assistance from the resident's physician, Nurse Manager, ADON or other RN member of the Nursing leadership team.
Within the scope of the LPN practice, completes ordered resident treatments and administers ordered resident medications timely and accurately.
Addresses resident and/or family concerns and involves the Nurse Manager, ADON or members of the leadership team and needed.
Works collaboratively with co-workers and members of all departments caring for the residents.
Follows the plan of care as developed by the RN staff nurse, MDS Coordinator(s), or RN members of the Nursing leadership team.
