School Nurse - summer position
General Description:
The summer school nurse oversees the health and wellness of students enrolled as well as the staff members in each program offered by Malden Public Schools. This is a seasonal position while the programs run, dates and hours vary depending on the program.
ResponsibilitiesProvide routine daily care and administration of OTC and prescribed medications.Provide emergency care to student and staff when neededMaintaining daily medical log records and reporting any student incidents to the program coordinatorsPerforming other job-related duties
Requirements
Qualifications:
Licensed as a Registered Nurse or Practical Nurse in the Commonwealth of MassachusettsFamiliar with life threatening allergy protocolsCommitted to working in and fostering an inclusive communityRespond calmly and efficiently to emergenciesWork collaboratively and independentlyMaintain an enthusiastic and positive presence to all students, staff and familiesExcellent organizational, problem solving and risk management skills
