Job Summary{{:
We are looking for a front-end web developer to maintain and upgrade Bay Cove's internal web site and support other applications and functions as required by the Director of Application Development & Support.
This is an exempt position.
Essential Functions of Position{{:
Developing new user-facing features with HTML, JavaScript, and CSS with Bootstrap
Determining the structure and design of web pages
Building reusable components
Optimizing page loading times
Thoroughly testing application using industry standard method and tools
Striking a balance between functional and aesthetic design
Producing, maintaining, and modifying websites and user interfaces
Creating interfaces between other applications including Jira, Confluence and reporting engines.
Ensuring websites are accessible across many platforms, including laptops and smartphones
Maintaining graphic standards and branding throughout the product's interface
Staying up to date on emerging technologies
Promoting usability best practices
Documenting system architecture and technical features.
Requirements for the position{{:
Minimum of two years of post-secondary education or relevant work experience.
Understanding of key design and software development principles.
Proficiency in HTML, SASS, CSS, JavaScript, and jQuery.
Experience with Figma, Canva or other graphic design applications.
Experience with responsive and adaptive design using Bootstrap 4 or newer.
Strong problem-solving and debugging skills.
Experience with build tools such as NPM, Gulp, Yarn and Webpack.
Experience with application testing tools.
Knowledge of front-end frameworks and libraries such as React, Angular or Vue.
