Role Summary:
The RN in the Medical/Surgical unit will provide high-quality patient care in a collaborative and communicative environment. The unit is a 64-bed facility that ensures thorough medical attention and support for all patients.
Key Responsibilities:
Assess patients' conditions and nursing needs
Establish goals and implement appropriate interventions addressing all aspects of patient care
Develop individualized nursing care plans
Implement and adjust care plans as necessary
Evaluate patient outcomes
Coordinate care with physicians and hospital staff
Administer medications, treatments, and therapies as prescribed
Communicate effectively with patients and oversee the provision of care
Educate patients and their families regarding conditions and care
Accurately document all observations and nursing interventions
Required Skills:
Strong critical thinking capabilities
Ability to exercise sound judgment and to work with minimal supervision
Capacity to manage stressful situations effectively
Minimum Qualifications:
Education:
Associate's degree

Bachelor's degree

preferred
Certifications:
Basic Life Support (BLS) certification required within 30 days of hire
Licenses:
Registered Nurse license in Kentucky required.
Note:

New graduates may practice under a KY provisional license for up to 6 months with the expectation of obtaining a full RN license during that timeframe.
