Job Summary and Qualifications

About this unit:

• Newly outfitted unit opened January 2023
• 32 bed Orthopedic & Spine Specialty unit committed to the care of post-operative patients
• Well establish care team consisting of registered nurses, licensed practical nurses, patient care techs, clinical nurse coordinators, and unit secretaries
• Supportive nurse leaders, experienced leads, joint navigators, and exceptional physician support
• Patient-centered therapy gym located in department to allow for close collaboration with our therapy team

• Helps create a superior clinical identity by operationalizing evidence-based practices to enhance patient safety and quality outcomes. Ensures adherence to standards of care.
• Supports efforts to reduce variation in clinical practice and improve efficiency, effectiveness and cost. Ensures a culture of accountability and transparency in the provision of care.

Finance

• Manages staff scheduling. Maintains staffing in accordance with patient care needs and established productivity guidelines.
• Manages operating expenses including the utilization of supplies and equipment. Identifies cost reduction opportunities and implements actions to achieve savings.

• Associate degree in Nursing required. Bachelor degree in nursing preferred.
• Currently licensed as a registered professional nurse in the state(s) of practice and/or has an active compact license, in accordance with law and regulation. National Nursing Certification in Specialty or Nursing Leadership preferred.
• BLS recognized by AHA required upon hire.
• Minimum 3 years of experience in healthcare required. At least one year of experience in a leadership role preferred.

Overland Park Regional Medical Center is a 340+ bed facility offering acute medical services to our patients. We are Johnson County's only Pediatric Intensive Care Unit and Level II Trauma Center. We have an Accredited Stroke and Chest Pain Center. Our hospital is a premier area destination for Women's & Children's healthcare services. We offer the region's only Maternal Fetal Health Center to care for critically ill mothers and their babies. Our hospital has an antepartum unit, a labor and delivery unit, and a Level III NICU. We have four emergency rooms, including a dedicated Pediatric emergency room and two freestanding ERs located in Olathe and Shawnee. Each.
