This position has up to a $20,000 sign-on bonus. This position is Full-time day shift, 7 am to 7 pm!

Responsibilities:

Providence Medical Center is seeking a dedicated and experienced Med/Surg Charge Nurse (RN) to lead and coordinate patient care on our Medical-Surgical unit. The Charge Nurse plays a critical role in ensuring high-quality care, supervising nursing staff, and maintaining efficient unit operations. This position requires strong leadership skills, clinical expertise, and a commitment to patient-centered care.

Key Responsibilities:

• Supervise and coordinate daily activities of the Med/Surg nursing staff to ensure efficient and effective patient care.

• Provide direct patient care and support as needed, including assessment, planning, implementation, and evaluation of care.

• Serve as a clinical resource for staff, providing guidance and support in complex patient care situations.

• Manage patient assignments, ensuring balanced workloads and appropriate staff coverage.

• Oversee admissions, discharges, and transfers, ensuring smooth transitions and comprehensive patient education.

• Ensure compliance with hospital policies, procedures, and regulatory requirements.

• Monitor and maintain unit supplies and equipment, coordinating with supply management as needed.

• Lead unit huddles and shift handoff meetings to ensure clear communication and continuity of care.

• Mentor and support the professional development of nursing staff through education, coaching, and feedback.

Qualifications:

EDUCATION, EXPERIENCE, TRAINING 1. Current and valid state RN License2. Current BCLS (AHA) upon hire and maintained current.3. Current ACLS (AHA) within 30 days of hire and maintained current.4. Bachelor Degree in Nursing (BSN) preferred. #LI-DV1
