The Online Software Engineer will help build networked game experiences for EA Sports titles.
Responsibilities include prototyping, planning, implementing, and maintaining features and technology for beloved games.
You will report to the Software Engineering manager and collaborate with your team to estimate, build, and improve projects, focusing on delivering excellent game experiences through efficient code.
Location Hybrid onsite from Orlando, Florida.
Your Responsibilities Leverage EAs Digital Platform technologies to implement server features, components, and services.
Create and maintain client code to support features and multiplayer experiences.
Optimize online systems for latency, reliability, scalability, performance, and memory.
Design and improve architecture and infrastructure for live systems.
Collaborate with partner teams to maintain online infrastructure and services.
Your Qualifications Strong experience in software development with C++.
Experience with networked applications (client/server or peer-to-peer).
Experience with multi-threaded architectures.
Knowledge of database technologies (MySQL, SQL, Redis).
Understanding of networking protocols (TCP/IP, UDP).
Bachelor's degree in Computer Science or related field, or equivalent experience.
Bonus Skills Experience with game consoles (Microsoft, Sony, Nintendo).
Experience with real-time networking, peer-to-peer games.
Network optimization and service reliability experience.
Log analysis skills (Splunk).
Linux experience.
Proficiency with Visual Studio and debugging tools.
