Description/Responsibilities
Sevenson Environmental Services Inc., a nationally recognized environmental remediation contractor (#4 in ENR 2023), is seeking a Project Engineer with over three years of experience to support a large environmental remediation project in Jacksonville, FL. The project is estimated to last 1-2 years and involves tasks such as mobilization, installation of environmental support infrastructure, soil stabilization, dredging, dewatering, sediment placement, backfill, installation of a geosynthetic cap, and groundwater treatment systems. Our clients include the US Army Corps of Engineers and US EPA.
Founded over 100 years ago, Sevenson entered the environmental remediation market in 1979, performing the remediation at the first Superfund site, Love Canal. We have a substantial backlog of work and a strong program.
This is a permanent position with the company, not a contract role, with the intent for employees to retire from Sevenson.
The Daily Work Will Include
Reporting daily construction activities
Developing daily excavation drawings via AutoCAD
Maintaining material delivery logs and construction production records
Preparing written work plans
Ensuring quality control in accordance with drawings and specifications
Coordinating site deliveries
As experience progresses, responsibilities may include procurement, scheduling, and project cost tracking
Skills/Experience Needed
Bachelor's Degree in Civil, Environmental Engineering, or related science from an accredited university. Candidates should be organized, communicative, and able to interact with management, field staff, subcontractors, and clients.
Other Job Requirements
0 to 5 years of construction or engineering/consulting experience supporting construction
Intermediate to proficient knowledge of AutoCAD software
