As a Cardiovascular Technician Apprentice, you willassistincardiaccatheterizationtoultimatelygainthe skills necessary to become a fully certified Cardiovascular Technologist (CVT). A caregiver in this position worksdays, 7:00am5:30pm w/on-call requirements.

A caregiver who excels in this role will:

Under supervision of CV Tech, perform basic EKG interpretation, single and 12-lead ST segments analysis for ischemia/injury patterns and recognition of arrhythmias.

Recognize andinterpretEKG changes related to all electrophysiology procedures,such as mapping,ablatingand implanting of cardiac resynchronization devices.

Perform arterial and venous pressure monitoring,samplingand basic interpretation.

Document procedure completely and accurately including medications and supplies.

Perform patient observation.

Under supervision of the CV Tech,assistteam members in acute cardiac care, including resuscitation and related therapeutic effects.

Under supervision of the CV Tech,utilizeaseptic techniques throughout pre-,intra-and post-procedures.

Set up scrub procedures in both Cath and EP lab.

Prepare all instruments/equipment for decontaminationandtakethem to the sterilization department.

Assistin room cleaning after each case.

Restock procedure room when cases are completed for the day.

Minimum qualifications for the ideal future caregiver include:

High School Diploma/GED

Completion of an approvedCardiovascular Technician Training Program within one year of hire

Basic Life Support (BLS) Certification through the American Heart Association

Advanced Cardiac Life Support (ACLS) through the American Heart Association within six months of hire

Preferred qualifications for the ideal future caregiver include:

Six months of healthcare related work experience

Physical Requirements:

Workload is heavy and requires constant lifting, moving of patients, equipment, instrument trays, and supplies.
Able to lift items up to 50 pounds without assistance and greater than 50 pounds with assistance.
Stooping, pushing and pulling required when moving patients or equipment into position for surgery.

Personal Protective Equipment:

Follows Standard Precautions using personal protective equipment as required for procedures.
