What You'll Do:
As a Wound Care Nurse, your primary responsibility will be to assess, treat, and monitor various wound conditions, collaborating closely with an interdisciplinary team.
Your care plans and interventions will aim to improve wound healing and enhance the comfort and quality of life for our residents.
You will serve as a practitioner, resource, consultant, educator, and facilitator to elevate the quality of care provided to individuals with complex wound care needs.
Key Responsibilities
Oversee and enhance the wound care and prevention program for residents and staff.
Conduct thorough wound assessments and establish tailored care plans for patients with skin complications.
Deliver direct wound care interventions such as dressing changes, debridement, and irrigation.
Review, update, and guide the implementation of wound care and prevention policies and procedures.
Monitor the progress of wound healing and assess the effectiveness of treatment modalities.
Educate residents, families, and staff on best practices for wound care and prevention strategies.
Collaborate with physicians, wound care specialists, and other healthcare professionals to ensure coordinated care.
Maintain accurate documentation of wound assessments, interventions, and outcomes to comply with regulations and facilitate reimbursement.

What You'll Bring:
Current RN nursing license.
Degree in nursing, epidemiology, biology, or microbiology preferred.
Minimum of 2 years of experience in wound care management, preferably in a Long-Term Care setting.
Knowledge of research-backed wound care and cleansing products.
Certification as a Wound Care Nurse (CWCN) is preferred.
Strong clinical assessment, organizational, and critical thinking skills.
Empathy and compassion when caring for residents with complex wound care needs.
Interest in nursing care for the elderly and chronically ill.
Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
Able to work effectively within a multidisciplinary team.
