Registered Nurse Specializing in Adolescent Psychiatry

This position will be based at our innovative acute care behavioral health facility in Fort Collins, Colorado, which opened in late 2023. We proudly partner with Larimer County to provide licensed, equitable, and culturally relevant care to individuals in crisis with mental health or substance use disorders.

What You'll Do:
The

provides specialized nursing care for adolescents aged 12-17 experiencing mental health disorders, emotional challenges, or behavioral issues. In our Adolescent Crisis Stabilization Unit, you will collaborate with a multidisciplinary team to assess, treat, and support young patients managing conditions such as depression, anxiety, bipolar disorder, schizophrenia, and substance use.
Your role involves providing compassionate and skilled nursing care, working closely with patients, their families, and healthcare teams to promote emotional well-being and support recovery.
Duties include, but are not limited to:
Providing prescribed medical treatment and personal care services for clients.
Administering medication and monitoring clients for side effects.
Coordinating, consulting, and problem-solving medical care with team members and providers.
Conducting clinical assessments and crisis interventions, documenting significant interactions, and maintaining clinical charts.
Developing and implementing a medication administration system.
Liaising with the pharmacy, managing medication orders, and maintaining necessary supplies.
Screening lab reports and referring abnormalities to providers.
Auditing medications and ensuring compliance with state regulations.
Educating clients about their medications.
Documenting therapy progress notes and reporting medication errors.
Performing other duties as assigned.
Background Check:

Please note that this position is subject to a mandatory background check through the Colorado Department of Human Services TRAILS database.
Required Qualifications:
Unencumbered Colorado license as a registered nurse.
Valid Colorado driver's license.
Understanding of diversity and inclusion with the ability to engage effectively with culturally diverse communities.
Preferred Qualifications:
Experience working with adolescents.
Bilingual and bi-cultural candidates are encouraged to apply.
1 year of experience in a behavioral health setting.

Total Rewards:
The typical hiring range for this position is $35 to $42 per hour, based on relevant experience.
