Senior Product Specialist:
Purpose and Objective:
SAP Labs, LLC seeks a Senior Product Specialist at our Palo Alto, CA location to analyze technology trends such as Energy Transition and process automation, and customer requirements to identify growth opportunities.
Expectations and Tasks:
Drive the success, quality, cost management, and delivery of a product throughout its lifecycle as defined in the portfolio. Evaluate competitive products in general Supply Chain processes (such as Oil & Gas Up-, Mid-, and Downstream processes) based on publicly available information to ensure the product remains competitive. Conduct user research, organize customer events, and incorporate customer input into product definitions. Engage proactively in product strategy discussions, contribute to developing a product vision and roadmap, and prioritize the product backlog to reflect customer and user needs. Enrich the backlog and ensure all relevant stakeholders understand it. Develop rollout plans, contribute to holistic product vision and design, and ensure understanding of business and usability requirements by all product teams. Develop test cases, conduct expert testing, validate scope throughout the lifecycle, and ensure high-quality software delivery. Accept or reject sprint results, create product-related assets like rollout and knowledge transfer materials, and collect early feedback from customers and stakeholders. Ensure usable software is available at the end of every sprint.
Education and Occupational Experience:
Bachelor's degree or foreign equivalent in Computer Science, Engineering, Information Technology, or a related field plus six (6) years of experience, or a Master's degree or foreign equivalent plus four (4) years of experience in the relevant occupation.
Qualifications/Skills and Competencies Experience:
Must involve two (2) years in:
Programming languages, including ABAP and Java;
Software Architecture;
Agile or Scrum Methodology;
Requirements engineering, including gathering, specification, verification, and validation;
System Analysis and Design;
Quality Management and Testing; and
Oil & Gas Industry Processes, including Main Up-, Mid-, or Downstream processes.

Compensation Range Transparency:
The annual base salary range for this position is $178,110 - $180,576. SAP values pay transparency, which supports an honest and supportive culture. The total targeted compensation range is $178,110 - $205,200, depending on education, skills, experience, scope, location, and other factors.
