Corman Railroad Group LLC is seeking a high potential Senior Financial Analyst based at its Nicholasville, KY headquarters.

The Senior Financial Analyst will play an important role working closely with the Sr.
Director of FP&A and the FP&A function within R.
J.
Corman Railroad Group.
The incumbent will be instrumental in developing robust forecasting and planning tools and processes that will enable agility and efficiency in delivering financial information and results.

This exciting opportunity requires an operationally focused, detail oriented professional who is highly collaborative and can work in a fast-paced environment to provide financial and strategic insight around key business decisions.
He/she will ensure that assets and financial resources are optimally deployed to maximize returns.
In addition, this role will work on continuous improvement efforts, helping to identify operational drivers that impact results, converting it into meaningful KPI’s and making recommendations to improve results.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities

  • Business partner withOperational Leadership and Accounting team members to provide value added insight to drive growth, margin enhancement increasing return on assets.
  • Lead forecasting for their respective business teams including near & long-term planning to enable delivery of objectives and results.
  • Develop and enhance processes that review monthly financial performance, identify trends and offer advice to improve results.
  • Initiate analysis of monthly variances and help identify those that will be ongoing or changes to run-rates.
  • Enhance and implement complex financial models to enable robust detailed forecasting, annual and long range planning.
  • Proactively initiate ad hoc analyses and projects where needed.
  • Evaluate alternative uses of capital to ensure that projects are expected to return in excess of weighted average cost of capital and/or are supported by a sound business case.
    This includes modeling for various investments.
  • Participate in capability development and training (process and/or financial) and coaching on financial matters to develop greater financial acumen in the business and across the team.
  • Be proactive in change management while driving key business initiatives with the goal of continuous improvement.
  • Support acquisition due diligence efforts and valuation activities of key targets.
  • Build and maintain analysis to support competitive landscape.
  • Other duties as assigned

Background Requirements

  • Bachelor's Degree in Finance or Accounting
  • Masters and/or CPA preferred
  • At least five years of Accounting, Finance, Planning and Analysis experience with increasing responsibilities
  • Advanced skills in Microsoft Excel and Microsoft Office
  • Experience with Microsoft D365 helpful

  • Demonstrated ability to multi-task and prioritize in a fast-paced, deadline oriented environment
  • Able to listen, ask questions, and determine when information is sensitive or confidential
  • Very strong communication skills including verbal and written presentations, and the ability to present financial information in a concise manner that drives alignment and enables timely decisions across the organization

Physical Requirements

  • Occasional lifting and carrying of office supplies weighing 15 lbs to 20lb
  • Able to push and pull with 10 lbs of force, the amount of force required to open and close file drawers
  • Hand and finger dexterity for use of keyboard skills

Environmental Conditions

  • Performs most work in indoors office environment.
