ABOUT THE ROLE

We are looking for an Azure Data Engineer to join our TechHub!

You will be responsible for supporting the Solution Owner in managing and executing Software Development Life Cycle (SDLC) tasks including analysis, design, solution configuration, development, testing, deployment and rollout related to the development of the relevant Supply Chain Planning solution cutting across multiple applications and technologies. You will also perform the project management for smaller solution changes.

The primary focus area for this role will be to fulfill these SDLC tasks will be on data engineering. This will require building a strong working knowledge in various areas, with a strong focus on existing end-to-end business processes, system and data integrations, data mappings, interface designs and also system administration.

Acting as gatekeeper for application changes, the Data Engineer will analyze business requirements, translate them into solution designs, provide effort estimates and create functional and technical specifications. You will need to document all solution design and analysis work accordingly.

THE SKILLS

To set you up for success in this role, here are some key skills that will help you:

• Bachelor's degree (or equivalent experience) in Science and Technology
• Minimum of five years of experience in at least two IT solution development disciplines, including architecture and application design/development.
• Proficiency in analyzing complex business requirements and translating them into technical solutions.
• Proven knowledge and practical experience of agile methods and processes, and capability of supporting agile project teams by providing advice and guidance on opportunities, impact, and risks.
• Strong knowledge of Data engineering concepts including Data Integration, Data Architecture, Data modelling.
• Experience in business process knowledge within one or more of the following Industry Sectors:
  Transportation Management, Supply chain management, Logistics
• Experience with designing/building solutions with Cloud/On-Prem Technologies and DevOps toolchain implementation.
• Knowledge in Azure technologies (Data Factory, Databricks etc.)
• Knowledge on Azure functions, Batch, Active Directory, KeyVault etc.
• Experience with DevOps tools (Azure DevOps services - preferred, JIRA, CI/CD etc.)
• Knowledge on version control tools (Git/Gitlab/Bit bucket/GitHub)
• Strong analytical and problem-solving skills, with the ability to understand complex business requirements and to propose innovative solutions.
• Ability to work independently and deliver multiple projects and support activities with minimal supervision.
• Team player with experience working in global environments and distributed teams across multiple time zones.
• Basic Oracle database and PL/SQL skills (being able to read PL/SQL source code).
• Strong oral & written communication skills.
• Fluent in English.
