He angitūtanga: The opportunity

We are seeking a skilled Technician to assist with the technical delivery of services for all events managed by our Production Department across Auckland Live and Conventions, as well as Tātaki Auckland Unlimited co-produced and presented events.

We have a permanent full-time vacancy for a Sound and Vision Technician working 80 hours per fortnight.

This role involves a rostered 24/7 schedule. As a Technician, you will play an integral part in the production team, assisting in the delivery of a variety of events across the organization.

Your daily responsibilities will include:

Setting up and packing down technical equipment in various venues across Auckland
Working on diverse event types including theatre productions, musicals, dance, concerts, conferences, meetings, and product launches
Collaborating with experienced technicians using state-of-the-art equipment and systems
Engaging with artists, promoters, and corporate clients ranging from community groups to international event companies

He kōrero mōu: About you

To succeed in this role, you should have:

An industry qualification in a relevant field; a degree or diploma in Video or Audio is preferred
Flexibility to work hours including overnight shifts and weekends as required
Minimum 2-3 years experience in the technical event industry
A clean, full New Zealand driver's license
Good understanding of Sound and Vision equipment including sound systems, projection equipment, LED screens, cameras, and streaming technology
Physical fitness and strength to meet the demands of the role
Excellent communication, customer service, and client engagement skills

The salary range for this role is $61,921.60 to $80,000 per annum.
