Position SummaryLooking for a Medical Receptionist/Front Desk Supervisor who has experience in an Oncology/Hematology practice. We are looking for someone with customer service skills, who pays attention to detail, and can multitask. You will be maintaining the front desk while performing other tasks assigned by management. The ability to work as a team while being efficient is a must.Responsibilities will include:
• Oversee the daily function/ efficiency of the front desk.
• Answering Phone Calls, Scheduling office visits, scheduling Chemotherapy treatments and lab /hospital appointments.
• Greeting patients professionally with proper courtesy / nice attitude.
• Maintain patient appointment schedule as well as update doctors and other staff about the schedule, arrival, and concerns of the patients.
• Collecting co-payments, balances, deductibles and coinsurance, out of pocket.
• Must possess experience and understanding of health insurance, referral requirements, copays, deductibles, Out of Pocket costs etc.
• Obtain scan pre-authorizations properly and timely and schedule as needed.
• Demonstrate strong communication skills and be organized and detail oriented.
• Excellent organizational and time management skills.
• Verifying that referrals and/or authorization are current at the time of service.
• Verifying insurance benefits and coverage, any changes in Insurance coverage.
• Work closely with all departments of the organization Billing /Insurance Verification / Nurses and Physicians.
• Knowledgeable in computer software, must have intermediate proficiency with data entry.
• Coordinate with staff and management to perform other duties as assigned / needed.
• Promote and maintain a cleanly work environment.
• Oversee front desk staff schedule.Requirements:
• 1-2 years of experience in a Medical Office as a Supervisor.
• Ability to work as a team and promote efficiency.
• Ability to pay close attention to detail with a high degree of accuracy.
• Ability to work quickly, accurately and independently in a fast-paced environment.
• Ability to problem solve.
• Basic or advanced verbal and written communication skills.
• Advanced computer skills.
• Understanding of medical insurance.
• Experience interacting with customers/clients.
