POSITION SUMMARYThis position will be assigned to the maintenance equipment group.
The primary duty of this assignment will entail machining components for rotating equipment and performing complete repairs of such machinery.
Operates and tends a variety of repair operations, such as assembly and disassembly, inspection, lathe and milling machining, drill press, welding, grinders machine metalwork according to Company pump repair specifications.The incumbent shall be an experienced mechanic/machinist experienced with the disassembly and assembly of machinery and be proficient at reading work orders, blue prints and other miscellaneous drawings.
This individual shall also have no issues with communicating/working with peers and management.
This employee will be able to efficiently and effectively work within a strong team-based environment.EDUCATION REQUIREMENTS
• High School Diploma or equivalent required
• Completed 5 years of pump/millwright/machinist experience
• Completion of an accredited millwright and/or mechanist training program or apprenticeship, is highly desired.EXPERIENCE REQUIREMENTS
• Minimum of 5 years of experience as a machinist is required
• Must be able to interact with a variety of experience levels and position types
• Ability to adjust schedule to meet business needs and address unexpected issues
• Use of lathes, mills, etc.

• Ability to use a computer for data entry, work order processing and other minor tasks
• Use of precision measurement equipment is required
• Completion of job specific training to equal journeyman machinist and/or millwright is preferred
• Adherence to all company policies and procedures
• Fluent in English, oral and written required
• Ability to adjust schedule to meet business needsMAJOR ACCOUNTABILITIES
• This position will repair, install, adjust and/or maintain Refinery production and processing machinery.
This position will require a strong work ethic, proactive starter, working knowledge of machinery repairs and all of the tools necessary to perform these repairs.
Proficiency with completing reports, reading measurement instruments, identifying and addressing typical repair problems, field and shop troubleshooting and ability to multitask.
• A Rotating Equipment Mechanic/Machinist shall be able to perform, but is not limited to, the following job tasks:
• Perform standard machining tasks that are integral with rotating equipment repairs.
These tasks may include, but are not limited to working with a lathe, mill, drill press, etc.
• Disassemble machinery or equipment to remove parts and make repairs.
• Clean, lubricate, or adjust parts, equipment, or machinery.
• Repair or maintain the operating condition of industrial production or processing machinery or equipment.
• Reassemble equipment after completion of inspections, testing, or repairs.
• Operate newly repaired machinery or equipment to verify the adequacy of repairs.
• Cut and weld metal to repair broken metal parts, fabricate new parts, or assemble new equipment.
• Record repairs and maintenance performed.
• Study blueprints or manufacturers' manuals to determine correct installation or operation of machinery.
