IEM is looking to bring on Full Time - Disaster Recovery Specialist I who will support IEM's State and Local Disaster Response and Recovery Team with its FEMA disaster recovery efforts. The role involves working hand-in-hand with state/local government and private non-profit representatives to guide them through the Public Assistance process.

Primary Location:

Live anywhere that meets remote work requirements in the United States including Puerto Rico.
Work may occur in the field, in an office environment, or remotely, depending on project needs.
Schedule may include weekends or more than 40 hours per week.
Assignments last 1-12 months with potential extension.

Travel Requirements:

Travel across the U.S. and Puerto Rico to client sites as needed.
Travel and expenses are reimbursable per Federal Travel Regulations or DoD Regulations.

Essential Functions:

Assist applicants and ensure compliance with grant management policies related to the Public Assistance Grant Program.
Identify impacts of policy changes to programs.
Perform damage assessments, develop inventories, scopes of work, and cost estimates for FEMA funding eligibility.
Conduct project validation reviews and address compliance issues.
Lead meetings and briefings for applicants.
Review supporting documentation for subawards.
Maintain and implement grant performance plans and procedures.
Work closely with federal, state, and local representatives to communicate FEMA PA program aspects.
Collaborate with Disaster Recovery Grants Management Specialists to resolve issues.

Minimum Qualifications:

Three years of experience with FEMA Public Assistance or similar programs.
Ability to interpret grant policies and communicate effectively.
Ability to work independently and in a team under tight deadlines.
Willingness to obtain and maintain a federal security clearance.
Intermediate understanding of Public Assistance 428, 406 Mitigation, disaster recovery, and related legislation.
Proficiency with IT tools, document management, and FEMA workflow systems.

Preferred Qualifications:

Bachelor's degree in engineering, public administration, emergency management, or related fields.
Experience with government or public industry entities.
Professional registration or certification such as PE, EIT, or Project Management certification.

Additional Information:

Office locations vary; candidates must follow site rules.
Remote work requires internet speeds of 25 Mbps upload and 3 Mbps download, with low ping.
Site assessments may involve exposure to harsh conditions and physical activity.

Benefits and More:

Salary ranges from $76,000 to $96,000 based on location and experience.
Includes paid holidays, vacation, sick leave, 401(k) with match, and company-paid STD and LTD.
