POSITION SUMMARY:

As a Material Planner, you will play a key role in ensuring the smooth and timely flow of materials throughout the manufacturing process. You will be responsible for inventory accuracy, material readiness, and coordination with cross-functional teams to meet production deadlines and cost targets. Your contributions will directly support on-time delivery, operational efficiency, and continuous improvement in a lean manufacturing environment.

WHAT YOU WILL DO:

Coordinate material planning and timely delivery to point-of-use (POU) locations

Monitor and manage MRP, including daily Order Action Summaries and message execution

Ensure accurate and timely release of work orders to manufacturing

Maintain accurate inventory levels, sub-inventories, and reduce obsolete/negative inventory

Support kitting activities and coordination with suppliers and internal stakeholders

Partner with capacity planning to address over/underloads and support level loading or outsourcing

Ensure accuracy and timely implementation of Engineering Change Orders and Bill of Material (BOM) updates

Track and report on key metrics such as inventory accuracy, past due orders, capacity, and closed jobs

Collaborate with Manufacturing Engineering to maintain up-to-date routings

Drive improvements in inventory processes and MRB (Material Review Board) compliance

Promote lean practices, 5S, and continuous improvement in the materials function

Support compliance with ISO procedures, work instructions, and company policies

Assist in achieving departmental budget goals (materials, supplies, labor, overtime)

WHAT YOU NEED TO BE SUCCESSFUL:

3+ years of experience in manufacturing, materials planning, or inventory management preferred

APICS certification (e.g., CPIM, CLTD, CTSC, or CSCP) or enrollment is an asset.

Strong communication and collaboration skills across departments and levels

Proficiency in MRP systems (e.g. Oracle), Excel, and business communication tools

Strong attention to detail, organizational, and problem-solving skills

Ability to work effectively under pressure and adapt to change in a fast-paced environment
