The Mullings Group Search Canada is in search of a General Manager for IHT Group. IHT Group's General Manager will oversee the strategic direction and execution of the manufacturing operations and product development initiatives for the organization. Reporting to the President, the General Manager delivers impactful and strategic leadership across many facets of the business including operations management, product design, development and lifecycle management, to ensure products are delivered efficiently on budget, meet market demands and align with the company's overall business goals and objectives.
This position is based in IHT Group's headquarters, located in Oak Bluff, Manitoba.
Oversee operations systems and manufacturing processes to ensure products are delivered on time, within budget, and with the highest quality standards.
Manage the product development lifecycle from concept to launch, including design, development, testing, and post-launch analysis while ensuring cost-effective decision-making and optimal allocation of resources.
Team Leadership, Collaboration and Resource Management:
Lead and mentor a cross-functional team of project managers, operational management, designers, engineers, and developers to achieve product goals and operational excellence.
Ensure effective resource allocation and project prioritization to meet product and operational milestones.
Market and Risk Analysis:
Conduct market analysis to identify new customer or geographic opportunities for existing product suite, as well as new product opportunities and enhancements to existing products that align with customer needs and market trends.
Identify potential risks within the product development lifecycle and implement strategies to mitigate risks, ensuring smooth product launches.
Lead competitive analysis to guide product direction and adjust strategies as necessary.
Quality Assurance and Testing:
Establish product standards and ensure products meet defined quality benchmarks through rigorous testing processes.
Oversee the product testing phase, ensuring products are tested thoroughly and meet performance, safety, and quality requirements before launch.
Ensure ERP system is fully utilized to foster culture of data-driven decision making.
Lead the evaluation, selection, and implementation of ERP systems or add-ons as required, that align with organizational goals, product development needs and integration with existing infrastructure, ensuring smooth data flow and minimizing disruptions.
Performance Reporting and Continuous Improvement:
Regularly report on key performance indicators, operational performance, and product development progress to the President.
Drive continuous improvement initiatives to enhance product quality, manufacturing processes, and team efficiency.
Bachelor's degree in Engineering, Manufacturing, Product Management, Business Administration, or a related field.
Proven experience (15+ years) in operations and product development management, with at least 5 years in a senior leadership role.
Strong knowledge of manufacturing operations, product lifecycle management, and lean manufacturing methodologies.
Extensive experience in managing product development processes, including design, testing, and market launch.
Previous experience in agricultural manufacturing or related fields.
Strong knowledge of agricultural machinery, including operation and maintenance.
Mechanical aptitude and ability to troubleshoot machinery issues.
Experience with market analysis, product testing, and risk mitigation strategies.
Financial acumen with experience utilizing ERP systems and a demonstrated ability to manage budgets and achieve financial goals.
Ability to work under pressure and manage multiple projects while maintaining high standards of quality and efficiency.
