About the Role:

Job Title: Customer Engineer/ Solutions Architect/ SQL Server/ Power BI Solutions Architect/ PFE/ Premier Field Engineer/ Field Engineer/ Cloud Solutions Architect

We are seeking a skilled and experienced Data Platform architect with expertise in Power BI, Data Warehousing and SQL Server engine. Ideal candidate will be responsible for designing and implementing effective Power BI solutions, with a focus on Power BI Embedded, development, data warehouse integration, analytics and DAX expertise. For SQL Server, there should be a strong focus on Performance, High Availability, and Failover Clustering.

Ideal candidate will play a key role in design, development and optimization of Power BI and SQL Server implementations along with assisting in migration and modernization of solutions to Azure.

Skills/ Job expertise needed:

• Enterprise level support and administration focused specifically on:
• Power BI, Power BI Embedded, SQL performance and tuning optimization, Clustering, Always On Availability groups, High Availability.
• Extensive experience with Power BI development including Power BI embedded skills.
• Power BI solution design, PBI embedded development skills and Performance optimization skills are required.
• Proficiency in DAX for developing complex calculations and measures.
• Strong understanding of Data Warehouse concepts and experience with integration of data warehouse.
• Solving performance problems, query tuning, and optimization
• SQL Server on IaaS experience on Azure/ Other public cloud required.
• All versions of SQL Server (2012 and onwards)
• Architectural experience for Data Platform
• Architecting for High Availability and Disaster recovery solutions using FCI, Always on Availability groups
• Delivering and/or authoring technical training
• Advanced certifications preferred.
• Previous Consulting and/or customer facing role.
• Azure data factory, Azure SQLDB, Azure SQLDB Managed Instance, Azure Synapse knowledge is a plus.

Technical Skills:

• Power BI Solution design and embedded development.
• Data modeling and database design.
• DAX, Power Query M Language, development and optimization
• Power BI Service, Power BI Desktop skills
• Data connectivity best practices to SQL, Oracle, MySQL, Azure, AWS and other services.
• Custom visualizations
• Power BI Row Level security along with other Security features.
• Indexing strategy
• Performance Optimization and Tuning Capabilities
• Partitioning data implementations
• Database schema creation and management.
• Ensuring High availability and Disaster recovery.
• SQL code reviews with ability to dissect query plan, T-SQL code
• Data Encryption
• Auditing
• Replication of data
• SQL Edition and version differences with discontinued and deprecated features
• Upgrade process.
• Storage management techniques.
• Data Engine Capacity planning.
• General database management, Policy based management.
• Extended events and Traces
• Basic Licensing and support scenarios
• Windows Failover Clustering
• SQL Server Reporting service
• SQL Server Analysis Service

Location: Fully Remote within Canada

French-speaking Bilingual is a must-have.

Salary Range: CAD 130,000 - 145,000 Annually - Factors that may affect pay within this range may include geography/market, skills, education, experience, and other qualifications of the successful candidate.
