Vertering

  • Voedsel wat ingeneem word, moet eers afgebreek word na klein oplosbare deeltjies wat dan in die bloedstroom opgeneem kan word. Hierdie proses noem ons vertering .
  • Die verteringsproses word verdeel in:
  • ingestie – voedsel inneem
  • digestie - vertering
  • absorpsie – voedseldeeltjies in die bloedstroom
  • egestie – uitskei van onverteerde voedsel
  • Vertering kan meganies (tande kou en maal, asook peristalse) of chemies (ensieme) wees.

Streke van die spysverteringskanaal

Mond:

  • Tande kou voedsel meganies fyn sodat ensieme hul werk kan doen.
  • Speeksel van die speekselkliere bevat mukus om die kos in 'n BOLUS te rol, asook ensieme soos SPEEKSELAMILASE wat stysel verteer. Die mukus sorg vir maklike afsluk.

Keel tot maag:

  • Bolus word afgesluk in die farinks of keel en volg dan die OESOFAGUS of SLUKDERM na die maag. PERISTALSE voer die kos af (selfs teen swaartekrag!).
  • Die EPIGLOTTIS keer dat kos nie in die lugpyp of trachea ingaan nie – verhoed dus dat jy stik.

Maag:

  • Kragtige maagspiere maal die kos fyn – na 'n paar ure noem ons dit SPYSBRY of CHYM .
  • Die ensieme en maagsuur help met verdere afbreek van voedseldeeltjies.
  • Die chym beweeg drupsgewys by die PILORIESE SFINKTER na die dunderm.

fullerene is a bucky ball aka Carbon 60 molecule. It was name by the architect Fuller. He design the geodesic dome. it resembles a soccer ball.

That is a great question Damian. best way to answer that question is to Google it. there are hundreds of applications for buck minister fullerenes, from medical to aerospace. you can also find plenty of research papers that will give you great detail on the potential applications of fullerenes.
