Aktiwiteit: om die energieverbruik van verskeie elektriese toestelle te vergelyk [lu 3.2]

a. Bestudeer die volgende en beantwoord dan die daaropvolgende vrae:

Hierdie kaart dui die bedryfskoste van sommige huishoudelike toestelle aan volgens hulle verbruik per eenheid elektrisiteit.

(b) Baie mense in Suid-Afrika het egter nog nie toegang tot elektrisiteit nie en gebruik brandhout, paraffien of gas as brandstowwe om kos te kook en huise warm te hou. Die brandstowwe (veral hout) word skaarser en mense moet ver loop om genoeg brandhout bymekaar te kry. Dit is dus uiters noodsaaklik dat ook hierdie brandstowwe doeltreffend gebruik word ten einde besparing teweeg te bring.

Baie van hierdie mense maak gebruik van ‘n oop vuurmaakplek en dan word baie van die hitte-energie na die lug rondom oorgedra. Mense gebruik ook ‘n gasstofie verkeerd en soms word daar baie energie vermors.

GROEPWERK

Elke groep kies ‘n kooktoestel wat deur die meerderheid Suid-Afrikaners in veral plattelandse gebiede gebruik word, bv. oop vuur; gasstofie, ens. Hierdie toestel moet prakties voorgestel word deur middel van ‘n model en daarna moet ‘n kort verslaggie daaroor geskryf word. In die verslag moet die volgende vrae beantwoord word.

  • Watter brandstof word gebruik?
  • Is dit maklik bekombaar vir die mense?
  • Watter kleur pot word aanbeveel? Hoekom?
  • Watter voorsorg moet getref word sodat daar nie te veel hitte-energie verby die pot beweeg en in die lug verlore gaan nie?
  • Wat is die koste van die brandstof?

fullerene is a bucky ball aka Carbon 60 molecule. It was name by the architect Fuller. He design the geodesic dome. it resembles a soccer ball.

That is a great question Damian. best way to answer that question is to Google it. there are hundreds of applications for buck minister fullerenes, from medical to aerospace. you can also find plenty of research papers that will give you great detail on the potential applications of fullerenes.

Yeah, it is a pain to say the least. You basically have to heat the substarte up to around 1000 degrees celcius then pass phosphene gas over top of it, which is explosive and toxic by the way, under very low pressure.
