Job Summary:

We are seeking an experienced

Registered Nurse (RN III)

with strong pre- and postoperative care skills to provide high-quality patient care to adult surgical patients recovering from a variety of procedures. You'll be responsible for assessment, planning, implementation, and evaluation of patient care in a collaborative and supportive team environment.
Typical Patient Population & Procedures:

Patients recovering from abdominal surgeries (e.g., laparoscopic cholecystectomies and appendectomies)
Mastectomies, thyroidectomies
Patients with chest tubes and various surgical drains
Responsibilities Include:

Complete pre-op and post-op surgical assessments and care
Monitor and document patient vitals and symptoms
Administer medications and manage pain via IV and PCA pumps
Collaborate with interdisciplinary teams for optimal patient care
Provide patient education and discharge planning
Equipment Utilized:

Vital signs machines
IV and PCA pumps
Workstations on Wheels (WOWs)
EMR charting systems
Pyxis medication dispensing systems
Required Qualifications:

Minimum

2 years of recent RN experience

in surgical/postoperative nursing
Proficiency in care of patients with chest tubes, drains, and general post-op recovery
Strong critical thinking and time management skills
Certifications Required:

Active RN License

(Hawaii or Compact License - Hawaii license preferred)
Basic Life Support (BLS)
• American Heart Association
Advanced Cardiovascular Life Support (ACLS)
Additional Information:

Nurse-to-patient ratio:

1:5-6
Floating:

May be required to float to other units based on staffing needs
Shifts:

3 x 12-hour shifts/week (likely nights)
