He angitūtanga: The opportunityWe are seeking a skilled Technician to assist with the technical delivery of services for all events managed by our Production Department across Auckland Live and Conventions, as well as Tātaki Auckland Unlimited co-produced and presented events.
We have a permanent full-time vacancy for a Sound and Vision Technician working 80 hours per fortnight.
This role involves a rostered 24/7 schedule. As a Technician, you will play an integral part in the production team, assisting in the delivery of a variety of events across the organization.
Your daily responsibilities will include:- Setting up and packing down technical equipment in various venues across Auckland
- Working on diverse event types including theatre productions, musicals, dance, concerts, conferences, meetings, and product launches
- Collaborating with experienced technicians using state-of-the-art equipment and systems
- Engaging with artists, promoters, and corporate clients ranging from community groups to international event companies

He kōrero mōu: About youTo succeed in this role, you should have:
- An industry qualification in a relevant field; a degree or diploma in Video or Audio is preferred
- Flexibility to work hours including overnight shifts and weekends as required
- Minimum 2-3 years experience in the technical event industry
- A clean, full New Zealand driver's license
- Good understanding of Sound and Vision equipment including sound systems, projection equipment, LED screens, cameras, and streaming technology
- Physical fitness and strength to meet the demands of the role
- Excellent communication, customer service, and client engagement skills
