What will be your role
In this role, you will join our international business team with a focus on expanding our client base and driving strategic growth in the Dutch market.
Your main responsibilities will include:
- Leading outbound prospecting efforts, including personalized outreach via email, phone, and in-person meetings to generate new business opportunities
- Conducting in-depth research on target clients to prepare impactful and customized presentations
- Collaborating closely with internal teams in Portugal (business development, marketing, presales, delivery, and talent) to craft compelling proposals
- Working directly with the CEO and spending 2-3 days per week (approx.
3 weeks/month) in the Amsterdam office to engage with clients and align on strategy - Representing AdvanceWorks NL in client meetings and industry events, helping build the local brand presence
- Managing the entire sales cycle from initial contact to closing, across various delivery models (fixed-price, agile teams, secondment, captive centres)
- Acting as a key contributor to the medium and long-term growth of the Dutch business, with the potential to lead and grow a local sales team
- Participating in internal strategy sessions, weekly sales calls, and quarterly visits to Portugal for internal alignment and client visits
- Helping define and articulate value propositions that connect technological solutions (software, data, AI) to business outcomes
- Being an ambassador for the company's values and culture, internally and externally

What should you bring to the team
We're looking for someone who is ready to take the lead and help us grow - not just in sales, but as a company.
The ideal candidate will bring a strong commercial mindset, technical affinity, and the ambition to build lasting client relationships in the Dutch market.
What we value in you:
- 5+ years (ideally 10+) of proven experience in sales of software development, data, or AI services - experience with secondment/outsourcing models is also considered
- Previous exposure to selling nearshore IT services (especially in Europe) is a strong advantage
- Educational background in IT or Management (preferred) - you must be able to connect business challenges to technology
- Deep knowledge of the Dutch IT market, including key players, rates, and delivery models
- A well-developed professional network of decision-makers who buy IT services
- A "hunter" mindset - someone who thrives on opening new doors, scheduling meetings, and converting leads into partnerships
- Resilience and high energy - you're not easily discouraged and maintain focus on results
- Autonomy and a sense of ownership - you're comfortable managing your workload and taking initiative
- A strategic thinker who can clearly articulate a value proposition and link technology to business outcomes
- Leadership potential - you're someone who could grow into a country manager role and eventually lead a local sales team
- Excellent interpersonal and communication skills, both in English and (ideally) Dutch
- Comfort with hybrid work - availability to be in the Amsterdam office 2-3 days/week and attend client meetings when needed
- Strong collaboration skills - able to work closely with peers in Portugal and across departments (marketing, presales, delivery, talent)
- A passion for building something meaningful - and the perseverance to go after ambitious goals
