We are currently recruiting for a Maintenance Specialist to sit within the local market of Italy, based in our MilanHead Office. As a member of the wider European Maintenance Team, you will report to both the COO for Italy and the European Maintenance Manager based in France, therefore English and Italian language is required for the position.
You will work closely with internal teams such as Store Operations and external vendors and suppliers to manage and oversee all maintenance requirements for Uniqlo stores in Italy as well as our Head office site in Milan. This is a hybrid role (2 days working from home, your main office is based in Milan however travel to stores across Milan and Rome is required on a weekly basis.
This is an opportunity for someone with previous retail maintenance or facilities management experience looking to take full ownership for country wide initiatives interventions. The primary mission of this role is to support the stores and ensure maximum performance of our facilities for the safety of our staff and our customers.
What you will be responsible for:
Full ownership of maintenance and intervention requests concerning the preventive and curative maintenance of the stores and Head Office.
Controlling the quality of production by demonstrating real planning and organisational skills.
Strong communication skills regularly liaising with our store managers, and internal and external departments and suppliers including Head office to strengthen our partnerships and therefore our results
Management of a weekly visit schedule to also acquire a perfect knowledge of our stores. The best way to improve store processes is to be in store.
Adherence to a regular store visit schedule to identify current issues, implement action plans as well as future planning for possible impending issues
Ensuring regular observations and inspections and inspections to ensure follow-up of regulatory checks
Management of our Suppliers (control office, maintenance company, elevator, goods lift, escalators and air conditioning, etc….)
Responsible for the supplier tendering processes to generate savings or new suppliers.
Management of observations following the inspection to ensure follow-up of regulatory checks.
Management of store claims (Contact with insurance, landlords, tenants and service providers)
Manage, improve and monitor daily the 'Service Channel' and 'Coupa' including the creation and integration of new suppliers.
Management, monitoring and preparation of budgets in order to increase the positive impact of PNL
Able to carry out work such as painting, screws, drill works, small carpentry, etc…
Responsiveness and strength of proposal and active participation in maintenance improvement activities.
However, it is agreed that this list of tasks or stores is not limiting or exhaustive. Any other function and/or mission falling within the scope of his competence may be assigned to him/her on a temporary or permanent basis by its hierarchy.
Skills, Experience and Attributes:
Holder of High school diploma or technical training degree.
At least 3 years of experience in a maintenance department, ideally in the Retail sector or in a specialised agency.
Air conditioning and an electrician certificate would be an advantage.
Rigorous, autonomous, responsive, adaptive working style
An excellent capacity for organisation, time management
Able to cope under pressure, in case of emergency management
Keen listening and interpersonal skills, with a genuine passion to provide service at pace to support our stores and customers
Excellent computer skills (Word, Excel, PowerPoint would be a plus) and GMAO software.
Good communication skills and fluency in Italian and English (reading, spoken, and written)
