The AIRC Institute of Molecular Oncology (IFOM) in the vibrant city of Milan, Italy, invites applications for the position of Junior Group Leader.
IFOM, was established in 1998 as the first Italian research center dedicated to exploring the molecular mechanisms underlying tumor formation and progression.
In 2022, IFOM secured funding to expand its mission, which now includes rapid and effective translation of basic cancer research findings into clinical applications for patients.
Unleash Your Potential
As a Junior Group Leader at IFOM, you will be part of the emerging wave of scientists involved in understanding the mechanistic bases of aging, preferentially in mammalian systems and with the ambition to make an impact on human conditions.
You will be able to interact and complement established research groups in IFOM studying the mechanisms and impact of cellular senescence, telomere biology, cell plasticity and mechanobiology with the intent of establishing and contributing to thriving community in IFOM interested on aging and its impact on human disorders, cancer first.
You will make the most of IFOM in-house assets ranging from the ability to run large pharmachological and genetic screens, to multi-centric clinical trials.

Qualifications
- MD, MD/PhD or PhD and postdoctoral research experience;
- Strong publication record;
- Potential to establish an independent, externally-funded research program;

- Experience working in a matrix environment within academic medicine;
- Proven success in collaborating with multi-disciplinary teams;
