Core Responsibilities:
As a key team member, shape technical solutions that align with our product strategy and collaborate with cross-functional teams to turn requirements into technical specs. We drive innovation and continuous improvement while ensuring our products meet high standards!
Develop and maintain backend services in Scala, applying best practices in functional programming
Shape and drive the backend architecture and technical direction of the product in collaboration with the engineering team
Design, build, and maintain scalable and secure cloud infrastructure using AWS, Kubernetes, and Terraform (IaC)
Consume and build RESTful and GraphQL APIs , ensuring consistency, performance, and scalability
Deliver high-quality, testable, and maintainable code through modern development practices (CI/CD, automated testing, peer reviews)
Collaborate closely in agile ceremonies and sprints , actively shaping backlog and delivery outcomes with the team

The Backend/Fullstack Engineer plays a critical role in this transformation. By designing, building, and maintaining the core infrastructure and backend services, this position ensures the reliability and performance of the digital platforms that deliver LEGO Education's solutions to the world. Their work enables seamless integration, efficient data flow, and scalable deployment-key components in supporting our mission to make learning inspiring and accessible to all.
Do you have what it takes?
We are looking for a passionate and innovative Backend/Fullstack Engineer who is curious, creative, and excels at problem-solving, with strong communication skills and thrives in a collaborative, multi-functional team environment. You are:
Proficiency in Scala and/or other functional programming languages (Golang, Java and any other languages. etc).
Experience with Cloud Infrastructure (AWS/Azure/GDC).
Excellent communication and collaboration abilities.
Nice to have
Experience with Kubernetes.
Experiences with Terraform.
Strong curiosity about developing and encouraging others.
Shown eagerness to continuous learning through your previous experiences.
Dare to speak up and learn from the failures.
Grow with both experimentations and the long haul.
Experience leading engineering initiatives.
