Manitoba's Largest Multi-Sport Event
Staged every two years, alternating between summer and winter sports, the Manitoba Games powered by Manitoba Hydro is the largest ongoing multi-sport event in the province. The Games foster new and improved sports facilities, volunteer and leadership development, and support amateur sport across Manitoba.
Re-established in 1986, the Manitoba Games were held biennially until the COVID-19 pandemic caused cancellations in 2020 and 2022. The 2026 Manitoba Winter Games will return to Thompson, which last hosted the winter games in 2018. Learn more about Thompson and the host community on the City of Thompson's website.
