ResponsibilitiesPosition Summary:
Reporting to the Executive Director, the Director of Service is responsible for the strategic leadership, development, implementation, and evaluation of service delivery programs within the Society.
As a key member of the Senior Leadership Team, the Director contributes to the development and execution of the organization's strategic goals, ensuring that services to children, youth, and families are delivered effectively and in compliance with the Child, Youth and Family Services Act (CYFSA), Ministry standards, and the Society's policies and procedures.
Key Responsibilities:
Strategic Leadership:
Collaborate with the Senior Leadership Team to develop and implement short- and long-term strategic plans.
Represent the Society on local and provincial committees and workgroups to advance service delivery objectives.
Service Delivery Oversight:
Oversee the planning, implementation, and evaluation of service programs.
Ensure services are aligned with legislative requirements and best practices in child welfare.
Monitor service levels and adjust plans to meet changing demands.
Ensure financial accountability and manage budgets within the Services Department.
Staff Leadership and Development:
Provide leadership, coaching, and supervision to Service Managers and their teams.
Promote a culture of continuous learning, accountability, and excellence.
Quality Assurance and Improvement:
Implement quality assurance strategies to achieve service goals and objectives.
Utilize data and feedback to inform continuous improvement initiatives.
Equity, Diversity, and Inclusion (EDI):
Champion and foster EDI initiatives, ensuring services are culturally responsive and inclusive.
Address systemic barriers and promote anti-oppressive practices within the organization.
Qualifications:
Master's degree in Social Work (MSW) or equivalent.
Minimum of 7 years of senior managerial experience in a child welfare organization.
In-depth knowledge of the CYFSA, Ministry regulations, and child welfare best practices.
Demonstrated commitment to equity, diversity, and inclusion, with an understanding of the systemic oppressions faced by Indigenous, racialized, and 2SLGBTQIA+ communities.
Strong leadership, organizational, and communication skills.
Proven ability to manage complex service delivery systems and lead organizational change.
