Description of Role:
The Regulatory Analyst is a subject matter expert responsible for providing timely and accurate advice to a growing and diverse client base. A strong sense of ownership and pride in principal duties is required. This role offers opportunities to work independently and collaboratively to achieve comprehensive results in a brokerage setting.
- Must have regulatory experience in a brokerage setting.
- Answer incoming inquiries from clients.
- Review and process post-entry adjustments.
- Research and respond to requests for complex information professionally.
- Analyze and interpret information received from clients or internal team members.
- Perform complex classification for goods across industries.
- Analyze the BOM (Bill of Materials) and prepare documents related to CUSMA and other free trade agreements.
- Conduct analysis on client tariff databases and update accordingly.
- Liaise with appropriate government departments as required.
- Prioritize and complete work based on project demands, customs requirements, and Willson standards.
- Participate fully with team members in daily operations, including setting priorities, organizing work, coordinating, problem-solving, and decision-making.
- Occasional travel to our US HQ may be required to support system and product launches.
- All other duties as assigned.
Knowledge and Educational Requirements:
- High School Diploma required; College and/or University Degree in Business Administration is an asset.
- CCS Certificate is required.
- Minimum five (5) years of customs brokerage experience, including two (2) years in consulting, regulatory, or similar professional services.
- Strong working knowledge of CBSA and PGA import requirements.
- CTCS and/or professional designation is an asset.
- Proficiency in MS Office Suite - Outlook, Word, Excel; knowledge of ITMr4 is an asset.
- Strong verbal and written communication skills.
- Problem-solving skills, accuracy, attention to detail, and analytical abilities are essential.
