General Accountant(1yr term contract $60-70K, potential FT)Location:

The General Accountant will report to the Financial Controller and will play a key role in managing Accounts Receivable, Payroll, and other General Accounting responsibilities.
This position requires a detail-oriented, self-motivated professional with a strong background in Canadian GAAP and experience in ERP systems, ideally within a manufacturing environment.Responsibilities:
Daily/Weekly Activities:
Update cashbook and post banking transactions in the CMS system.Generate weekly Aging Reports and follow up on outstanding receivables.Accurately prepare and submit bi-weekly payroll using Ceridian.Maintain employee records by adding new hires and updating changes in Ceridian.Reconcile payroll accounts and prepare payroll-related reports.Post journal entries into the CMS system.Review accounts payable cheque runs and wire payments for accuracy.Prepare timely and accurate bank and general ledger account reconciliations.Post accounts receivable invoices and customer payments in CMS.Support the Financial Controller with account analysis and ad hoc queries.Month-End Activities:
Prepare and post month-end journal entries promptly.Reconcile inter-company accounts with precision.Prepare accrual and prepayment schedules and post related entries.Assist in preparing and analyzing financial statements.To succeed in this role, the ideal candidate should:
Possess strong communication skills and the ability to work effectively across teams.Demonstrate advanced proficiency in Excel.Be a self-starter with high energy and initiative.Have a thorough understanding of Canadian GAAP.Bring a minimum of 5 years of progressive accounting experience, preferably in the manufacturing sector.Have experience working with ERP systems; CMS experience is an asset.Be pursuing or have completed an accounting designation (e.g., CPA).If you meet the above requirements and are interested in this opportunity, we would be happy to schedule a phone call to discuss the position further.
