Currently, DMI doesn't have an internal accountant / controller. Up until now, we've had a staff member do the book-keeping and an external accountant do the year end (compilation) & help consult. It's a combination that has served us well to this point. But, with our book-keeper retiring and the company experiencing growth, we've decided it's the right time to add a full time CPA to our team, and create a CFO position at the company.

We're looking for a CPA who:
- is prepared to do routine accounting tasks, but capable or providing us with high level analysis, advice & support;
- can work the detail to lay out the options as we go;
- can recognize the non-financial implications of those options to make sure we arrive at balanced solutions where everyone thrives;
- is positive, and would be a great colleague that we'll enjoy sharing the journey with.
- Has experience they feel would add value to the company.
Role Specifics
DMI's CFO would fulfill a variety of responsibilities within the company as follows:
- Accounting
o Day to day accounting
o Month end reconciliations
o Year end accounting
- Financial Analysis
o Reviewing sales & providing analysis to the owners on the profitability of jobs, accuracy of quotes, production efficiency, and machine and employee productivity etc.
- Financial Road Map
o Help set objectives & create a road map to achieve them
§ Corporate & Personal
o Financial forecasting & planning
§ Corporate & Personal
o Financial analysis to help with decision making
§ Capital & Operating
- Senior Administrative Support
o Complete documentation necessary for:
§ Loans
§ Grants
§ Access to new markets
§ New customers in Oil & Gas / Aerospace / Medical / Public sectors
- Initial Ad Hoc Task
The first job that needs to be addressed is bringing our current accounts up to date and
preparing the information required by the external accountant for the year ended
November 30, 2024, including:
o Establishing accounting processes to embrace our new workshop software that has integrated accounting software;
o Perform a thorough review of the accounts in order to reconcile the books for the year ended November 30, 2024;
o Work with the external accountant to prepare financials for the year ended November 30, 2024 (note that estimated corporate taxes have been paid, but the accounts haven't been successfully reconciled due to the book-keeper retiring)
o Catch up to date with accounts beyond November 30, 2024.
Package
- $100,000 + p.a., negotiable based upon experience
- Health & Dental Benefits - fully paid by DMI
- 4 weeks paid vacation p.a, Incl Christmas week (Co. closes for Christmas)
- 1 week paid sick / personal leave p.a.
- 40 hours a week, Monday - Friday. Leave work at the door. Great work:life balance.

Next Steps

Start date: Flexible, but the earlier the better.
