registered, non-profit charitable organization, that serves food banks, community kitchens, school food
programs and other supportive agencies across New Brunswick. We are accountable for food collection,
storage and distribution, fundraising, and advocacy for the people we serve and the agencies we
support.
THE OPPORTUNITY
The Advocacy & Communications Manager role is a unique opportunity for a bilingual, highly motivated
professional to manage FDA's communications and lead the organization advocacy efforts.
WHAT YOU WILL DO?
Reporting to the Executive Director, the Advocacy & Communications Manager will be accountable for:
• Create compelling key messages and content for advocacy campaigns.
• Develop and execute campaigns through ads, social media, newsletters, media relations efforts,
and community engagement events.
• Monitor advocacy initiatives, trends, and opportunities across the region and sector.
• Coordinate engagement activities that maximize the impact of FDA and member agencies.
• Assist with research, policy, and communications activities as needed.
• Engage with member agencies, food bank clients, donors, volunteers, and community members,
enabling them to inform and participate in advocacy initiatives and to explore ways to further
connect or participate in events, fundraisers, etc.
• Build and maintain strategic partnerships with key organizations and stakeholders across the
sector.
• Act as a media spokesperson and FDA representative at meetings with external stakeholders.
• Support projects, meetings, and relevant initiatives within FDA and its network.
• Promote our organization in the community and look for ways to further connect or participate
in events, fundraisers, etc.
• Work closely with other non-profit agencies, in particular the groups and organizations that are
served by FDA, in receiving communications and responding to inquiries.
• Other duties as required and/or requested.
WHAT ARE YOUR QUALIFICATIONS & ATTRIBUTES?
• Post-secondary training or equivalent experience in communications, community engagement,
marketing, or related field.
• Ability to plan and execute effective advocacy campaigns using engagement strategies and
communications tools/materials.
• Experience working on advocacy campaigns that target the municipal, provincial, or federal
government and other stakeholders.
• Ability to work effectively with little or no supervision and as part of a team.
• Ability to work collaboratively and respectfully with a diversity of people, including people
experiencing poverty and food insecurity, donors, government officials, member agencies,
partner organizations, staff, and the public.
• Strong relationship management and interpersonal skills
• Exceptional verbal and written communication skills
• Experience in working with non-profit organizations or similar groups is an asset.
THE DETAILS
Working Hours:
• Salary based on a 40-hour work week with flexibility in scheduling, including weekdays,
evenings, and weekends. The role requires availability outside normal business hours.
• Location: This role is based in Moncton, New Brunswick.
Compensation:
• $81 000/year, negotiable based on experience, with a comprehensive health benefits package.

un professionnel bilingue et très motivé de gérer les communications du FDA et de diriger les efforts de
revendication de l'organisation.
QUE FEREZ-VOUS ?
Sous la responsabilité du directeur général, le responsable des communications et de la
revendication sera chargé de :
• Créer des messages clés et des contenus convaincants pour les campagnes de
revendications.
• Élaborer et exécuter des campagnes par le biais de publicités, de médias sociaux, de
bulletins d'information, d'efforts de relations avec les médias et d'événements
d'engagement communautaire.
• Suivre les initiatives, les tendances et les opportunités de revendication dans la
région et le secteur.
• Coordonner les activités d'engagement qui maximisent l'impact du FDA et des
agences membres.
• Aider à la recherche, à la planification et à la mise en oeuvre des activités de
communication selon les besoins.
• Collaborer avec les agences membres, les clients des banques alimentaires, les
donateurs, les bénévoles et les membres de la communauté, leur permettant
d'informer et de participer aux initiatives de revendication et d'explorer les moyens
de se connecter davantage ou de participer à des événements, des collectes de
fonds, etc.
• Établir et maintenir des partenariats stratégiques avec des organisations clés et des
parties prenantes dans l'ensemble du secteur.
• Agir en tant que porte-parole auprès des médias et représentant du FDA lors de
réunions avec des partenaires externes.
• Soutenir les projets, les réunions et les initiatives pertinentes au sein du FDA et de
son réseau.
