The Position:
Reporting to the Director, Finance & Administration, the Human Resources Generalist is responsible for all aspects of the Human Resources function within CPA Manitoba. The successful candidate will administer employee programs, ensure compliance with current legislation, and help lead culture-focused initiatives. This position offers the possibility to work either 28 or 35 hours per week, scheduled over 4 or 5 consistent weekdays as determined at the time of hire. While flexibility in the number of workdays is offered, the daily work hours will follow a consistent schedule.

Key Responsibilities Include:
• Maintain and update HR policies that align with legislation and ensure consistent application across the organization. Keep employee records up to date and compliant, monitor HR-related legal changes and communicate changes to leadership and staff.
• Manage the full recruitment cycle, including creating job postings, resume screening, interviews, references and contracts. Facilitate the onboarding experience to provide seamless transitions for new employees.
• Help maintain the organization's compensation philosophy and structures. Conduct salary reviews as necessary.
• Support a positive workplace culture by collaborating with senior management on engagement strategies, leading the Culture Club, administering employee pulse check survey questions and monitoring employee engagement.
• Coordinate professional development and training initiatives for all staff.
• Oversee the performance review process, ensuring consistency in approach across departments.
• Address workplace issues and provide support to managerial staff as needed on issues such as terminations, performance improvement plans, or respectful workplace concerns.
• Support a culture of recognition by managing service milestones, coordinating the recognition program, and assisting managers in acknowledging staff contributions.
• Administer employee benefits and the Employee Assistance Program.
• Serve as co-chair of the Health and Safety Committee and lead efforts to promote a safe and healthy work environment.
• Participate in the Staff Equity, Diversity & Inclusion (EDI) Advisory Group and help implement EDI initiatives in collaboration with the EDI Lead.
• Work with the Finance team to develop HR budgets that align with strategic organizational goals. Provide administrative support to the Finance Manager on payroll processes and benefits programs.
The Ideal Candidate Will Possess:
Education:
• Completion of a degree in post-secondary education specializing in HR Management.
• CPHR designation, or working toward one, is considered an asset.
Experience:
• At least 3 years of progressively responsible experience in human resources, ideally in a generalist capacity with hands-on exposure to a range of HR functions.
• Active participation in professional development activities (CPHR or equivalent).
• Experience delivering presentations and speaking publicly.
• Intermediate proficiency in Microsoft 365 and Adobe Applications.
• Skilled in conflict resolution and providing coaching and support in difficult conversations.
• Previous experience in a not-for-profit environment is considered an asset.
Skills:
• Comprehensive knowledge of HR legislation and best practices.
• Ability to balance policy enforcement with empathy and professionalism.
• Exceptional organizational and time management skills.
• Strong written and verbal communication abilities.
• Comfortable managing both strategic projects and day-to-day HR operations.
