Reporting to the Director, the Project Manager will play a pivotal role in overseeing and managing the successful execution of construction projects from initiation to completion.
Primary Scope of Role :
- Ensures project is constructed according to design, budget and schedule.
- Ensure project adheres federal, provincial and local safety/environmental legislation and acts.
- Monitors project performance, schedule, costs, equipment, labour, materials, equipment maintenance, safety and quality control.
- Manage construction project subcontractors including contract agreements, performance, schedule, costs, safety and quality control.
- Interfaces with project team and related third parties.
- Monitors and inspects project site to maintain a safe work environment and provides leadership to ensure policies, procedures and standards are followed.
- Prepare estimates related to project scope changes.
- Supervises, provides guidance and assesses performance of direct reports and other team members.
- Oversees project closeout.
Position Requirements :
- A P.
Eng.
or a C.E.T.
designation is preferred. - A minimum of 5 years' progressive experience in civil construction projects (Earthworks, Road/Paving, Structures (bridges), underground utilities).
- Experience in managing all aspects of road building, asphalt, structure and construction projects.
- Experience with ICI projects is an asset.
- Excellent verbal, written and interpersonal communication skills.
- Ability to work in a team environment and build strong working relationships.
- Familiar with project management and estimating software programs.
- Ability to be flexible and work in a fast-paced environment.
- Effective decision-making and problem solving skills.
- Effective time management and prioritization skills.
