Magna IV Engineering is an electrical engineering and technical field services firm established in 1982 in Edmonton, Alberta. Since this time, Magna IV has grown steadily and now has offices in both North and South America and has completed projects in six continents.
Magna IV has become the Canadian leader in the delivery of engineering and technical field services to the electrical power system sector and is one of the largest testing and commissioning firms in Canada. We provide a wide range of services relating to power, lighting, and control systems including Engineering, Project Management, Field Testing & Commissioning, Design Build, Equipment Manufacturing, and Maintenance. Our full membership with NETA (International Electrical Testing Association) and various Engineering Associations reflect our commitment to providing quality services.

Responsibilities of this role include aspects of project management, engineering design, and mentoring of team members as needed.
Engineering & Design:
Lead project teams effectively through collaboration, support, and team focus
Provide expertise and consulting on power systems, including apparatus and protection & control devices
an asset
Work safely around low, medium, and high voltage electrical systems in a variety of environments, including utilities, manufacturing, mining, and oil and gas
Complete technical report writing
Project Management:
Oversee all aspects of projects having been assigned project management responsibilities.
Manage projects ranging in values from $10,000 to multi-million
Complete all project deliverables to the satisfaction of the client
For each project ensure a professional engineer has been assigned responsibility for any required review, verification, and authentication
Complete project invoicing with the support of Accounting personnel in a timely manner
Maintain acceptable profit margins on all projects
Coordinate activities with Marketing personnel to achieve a collaborative effort with the goal of creating confidence within industry for Magna IV Engineering's capabilities.
Actively network within the industry by participating at trade shows and seminars
Interact and collaborate with Senior Consulting Engineers from other teams, departments, and offices to share client information and seek shared opportunities
Foster a culture of strong client relationships and support team members in establishing strong relationships and communication with clients
Identify opportunities for proposals, draft proposals, and explain/negotiate proposals with clients or delegate to the applicable project manager(s)
Electrical Engineering degree required. Ability to perform engineering feasibility studies
Broad knowledge in industrial, utility and commercial environments
Experience and working knowledge of ETAP, SKM, EasyPower or equivalent software tools
Must have a valid drivers' license
