Job Title: Security Consultant
Work Location: 1000 Brussels, Belgium (Hybrid - 2 to 3 days need to go Onsite)
Contract Duration: until End of July 2027 with possible Extension

This role involves executing all procurement processes in compliance with current regulations and formulating strategic procurement procedures. The ultimate goal is to ensure business continuity under the best possible conditions.
Key Responsibilities
The Information Security Officer (ISO) Architect focuses on aligning security architecture with the Flemish Government's Information Security Strategy. As part of the Information Security Team - Policy Support, you will evaluate, design, and optimize security policies and frameworks to strengthen digital resilience.
Key Responsibilities
Security Architecture & Policy Development
- Evaluate existing and new proposals to ensure strategic alignment with security needs.
- Develop and oversee initiatives to strengthen the information security organization.
- Translate security criteria from the Information Classification Framework into non-functional architecture components.
Risk Management & Compliance
- Collaborate with the Information Security Team, Office for Digital Security, and the Data Protection Officer (DPO) for risk analyses and security enhancements.
- Implement security processes and governance frameworks(ISO27000, COBIT, NIST, OWASP, CIS Critical Security Controls).
- Perform security management tasks, including:
- Risk monitoring.
- Incident registration & evaluation.
- Security assessments and compliance tracking.
Security Implementation & Continuous Improvement
- Integrate security measures into organizational processes.
- Support training initiatives to strengthen the security culture.
- Enhance tools & methodologies for proactive cyber security.
- Contribute to crisis management procedures.
Cross-functional Collaboration & Expert Advisory
- Advise internal & external stakeholders on security-related decisions.
- Serve as the key expert in information security within a dynamic, cross-functional team.
Requirements & Expertise
Technical Expertise
- Experience as a Security Consultant in data, infrastructure, or application security.
- Expertise in security domains, including:
- Information security management.
- Vulnerability analysis & penetration testing.
- Application security optimization.
- Private Access Management.
- Encryption solutions.
- Experience in analyzing, optimizing, and documenting security processes.
- Proficiency in security management frameworks(ISO27000, COBIT for Security, NIST, OWASP, CIS).
- Relevant security certifications(e.g., CISM, CISSP, CEH).
Language Requirement
- Dutch at European CEFR Level C2(Mandatory).
Specific Skills
- Demonstrated experience in the role of Information Security Officer
- Experience in architectural conceptual proficiency
- Proven experience in setting up and implementing architecture strategies
- CISSP certification
- Experience in security analysis and handling security incidents
- Experience in providing optimization proposals based on incidents
- Experience in risk management
- Knowledge of ISTQB
