We are seeking an experienced Data Architect to join our dynamic team for a 3-month contract based in Sydney. As a Data Architect, you will focus on three key areas: Foundation Information Architecture, Data Governance, and Project-based data management support. This position will work closely with cross-functional teams to ensure the effective design and management of data systems, alignment with data governance standards, and the execution of data migration strategies.
Key Responsibilities:
- Conduct workshop to understand data challenges for key information domains (Finance, Employee, Customer, Case) and needs.
- Identify source of truth for key information entities
- Create Enterprise Data Model for key information entities.
- Create Data Dictionary and Metamodel for key information entities.
- Recommendation to remove pain points.
Data Governance
- Define roles and responsibilities
- Governance policies for data quality, security, privacy and compliance
- Define governance processes aligning with existing EA governance process.
Project Based
- Work with project to understand their data requirement.
- Define conceptual and logical data model for the project.
- Identify issues in current data quality and provide recommendations to improve data quality.
- Provide a guideline for Data Migration.
Knowledge and Experience:
- At least 10 years of experience in data management, data analysis, and data governance.
- Tertiary or professional qualification in Information Management, Computer Science, Business, or a related field.
- Certifications in data governance or stewardship (e.g., CDMP) are a plus.
- Proficiency in SQL and Excel for data querying, validation, and reporting.
- Experience with data visualization and reporting tools (e.g., Power BI, Tableau).
- Familiarity with data quality, lifecycle management, and metadata tools.
- Knowledge of data governance, security, and compliance (e.g., GDPR).
- Familiarity with modern data frameworks (e.g., data mesh, data fabric) and tools like Snowflake.
- Strong analytical and problem-solving abilities.
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills; able to communicate technical information to non-technical stakeholders.
- Collaborative, able to work across departments and with external partners.
- Adaptable to changing technology landscapes and business needs.
- Strong time management, organisational skills, and attention to detail.
- Demonstrates business acumen.
