Overview
We are seeking a CFD & Wind Engineer to contribute to the delivery and continued growth of E-LAB's Computational Fluid Dynamics (CFD) and Wind Engineering services. This role focuses on technical project delivery, collaboration with multidisciplinary teams, and the development of innovative modelling solutions.
This is a national role offering flexibility in location and opportunities to work on diverse, cutting-edge projects across Australia.
Key Responsibilities
Technical Delivery
- Undertake CFD analyses, including data centre assessments, natural ventilation, thermal comfort, and CO modelling.
- Develop models for wind assessments, pollutant dispersion, and fire/smoke simulations.
- Ensure compliance with relevant codes, standards, and client requirements.
- Work closely with E-LAB's Sustainability, Fire, and Acoustics teams to deliver integrated engineering solutions.
- Assist senior engineers in the preparation of proposals and technical documentation.
- Support the development of tools, processes, and workflows to improve efficiency.
- Engage with clients and project teams to understand project requirements and provide technical input.
- Stay informed about advancements in CFD and wind engineering methodologies.
- Participate in knowledge-sharing sessions and contribute to internal training initiatives.
Qualifications & Skills
- Degree in Mechanical Engineering, CFD, Wind Engineering, or a related field (postgraduate qualifications advantageous but not essential).
- Minimum 1-3 years of experience in CFD and/or wind engineering in the built environment.
- Familiarity with CFD tools such as ANSYS Fluent, OpenFOAM, or similar platforms.
- Strong analytical, problem-solving, and technical report writing skills.
- Effective communication and teamwork abilities.
