Your Opportunity
Our Sustainability and Climate Change team in Melbourne is seeking a highly skilled and passionate Principal Consultant with experience across Victoria and New South Wales. The role involves managing complex energy, transport, water, and climate risk projects, providing specialist advice, and driving sustainable practices across sectors, businesses, and government agencies.
Experience in business development activities with new and existing clients
Managing and collaborating on sustainability projects from inception to completion
Excellent communication, interpersonal, and negotiation skills, with demonstrated ability to build and manage client relationships internally and externally
Work closely with teams across Mott MacDonald (locally and interstate)
Developing and mentoring team members to grow their technical expertise
Conducting sustainability, carbon, and climate resilience assessments and developing strategies, action plans, and initiatives for government and private sectors
About You
Bachelor's degree in Sustainability, Environmental Sciences, Engineering, or similar
Experience in sustainability consulting and advisory roles for government, private sector, and infrastructure projects, including sustainability reporting at corporate and project levels
Proven ability to develop and write high-quality technical content such as proposals, reports, assessments, and advice notes
Knowledge of infrastructure sustainability projects is preferred but not essential
Good understanding of carbon and climate change issues, with the ability to interpret and present complex information clearly
Practical experience with sustainability standards and reporting frameworks (IFRS, SDGs, SBTI, GHG Accounting, ISC, etc.)
