Why this role mattersThe Salvation Army Youth Services offer an integrated suite of programs engaging with young people across Australia. Our services create intentional avenues for young people to explore opportunities, build support networks, and access, participate and contribute to their communities. Youth services provide a diverse range of programs which include housing and homelessness, driver training, education, employment, and training, AOD support, social and community activities, specialist therapeutic responses and youth justice programs.
About The RoleWe are seeking a values-driven and proactive Youth Worker, at our Kalgoorlie location. Reporting to the Team Leader, this is a permanent, full-time position.
Salary and conditions are in accordance with the SCHADS Award, level 4.You will successfully- Provide support to young people in line with Youth Services Model of care and associated Frameworks.
- Establish effective relationships with clients that encourage self-determination and participation.
- Provide case management support to clients in accordance with TSA case management models and standards of practice.
- Ensure accurate, thorough and up to date client records including case notes and data are maintained for all clients in accordance with TSA standards and procedures using TSA information systems.
- Assist clients to access support services and establish community supports, including referrals to appropriate specialised agencies for counselling, therapeutic and remedial programs and where needed are assisted through advocacy with service providers.
- Minimum Certificate 3 or 4 in Human Services or related field, or relevant equivalent experience in the Human Services Industry.
- Experience in working with youth in community or residential setting desirable.
- WA Working with Children Check
- Drivers licence
- First aid certificate (current or able to get within three months).
