The ideal candidate will have experience in all aspects of carpentry, from framing to finishing, and a strong commitment to safety and quality workmanship.The roleThe Carpenter will follow blueprints and building plans, shape or cut materials to exact measurements with hand tools or power saws, and operate, maintain, and sharpen carpentry tools.
Install structures or fixtures, including windows, doors, frames, flooring, trim, and hardware, using hand and power tools.The annual salary is $74,000 to $75,000 plus superannuation.Responsibilities include:
Install structures or fixtures, such as windows, doors, frames, floorings, trim, or hardware, using hand or power tools.Level and help erect the building framework.Utilise chisels, planes, saws, drills, and sanders to repair and erect structures.Join materials with nails, screws, staples, or adhesives.Examine work to make sure it meets specifications.Install door handles, locks, hardware, flooring underlay, insulating material and other fixtures.Follow blueprints and building plans to meet clients' needs.Shape or cut materials to specified measurements, using hand tools, machines, or power saws.Operate, maintain and sharpen carpentry tools & equipment.Maintain building interiors and exteriors.Prepare cost estimates for clients or employers.Estimate height, width, length, and other proportions using levels, rules and framing squares.Measure and mark cutting lines on materials, using a ruler, pencil, chalk, and marking gauge.Select and order materials and timber for projects, and preparing layouts.Work with materials such as wood, plastic, fibreglass, or drywall.Assemble prepared wood to form structures and fittings ready to install.Follow established safety rules and regulations, and maintain a safe and clean environment.Tools & Equipment:
