The SVP of Sales will lead and manage the sales function across all retail banking branches and distribution channels.
This pivotal role focuses on driving revenue growth, achieving sales targets for all retail products and customer segments, and enhancing both customer acquisition and retention.
This role requires ensuring excellence in sales execution through the effective leadership of relationship managers and front-line sales staff.
In addition, the SVP of Sales will oversee sales operations across all distribution channels, providing strategic direction and effective leadership to achieve organizational goals.
Duties and Responsibilities:
Retail Sales Strategy and Business Scope:
- a) Responsible for the development and implementation of the overall retail sales strategy aligned with the bank's strategic objectives and growth targets.
Ensure that the sales performance meets or exceeds defined KPIs through effective leadership of the national branch network and retail sales force. - b) Leads and manages all branch-based and relationship manager teams to achieve individual and collective sales targets across all customer segments (affluent, mass affluent, etc.) and all retail products (liabilities, assets, cards, insurance, investments, etc.).
- c) Drives sales initiatives across the retail banking portfolio, ensuring alignment with business objectives and expansion of market share.
Actively focuses on customer acquisition, portfolio growth, cross-sell, and upsell opportunities to maximize wallet share and customer lifetime value. - d) Directly manages 8 reportees, including sales managers and regional branch heads, with overall leadership of approximately 68 employees.
Fosters a collaborative and high-performance culture within the team. - e) Provides coaching and development to relationship managers and branch staff, building a client-focused sales team capable of delivering exceptional service and sales growth.
- f) Drives portfolio growth with a target of 20% year-over-year increase over the next 5 years, focusing on expanding market share and enhancing customer engagement.
- g) Collaborates with product, marketing, digital, and analytics teams to develop sales campaigns and initiatives aimed at boosting revenue and market penetration.
- h) Monitors sales pipelines, conversion rates, and revenue generation metrics, implementing corrective actions when necessary to ensure targets are met or exceeded.
- i) Establishes and monitors sales KPIs, ensuring delivery against targets across branches and sales channels while maintaining compliance with internal policies and external regulatory requirements.
- j) Champions customer centricity by driving initiatives to enhance customer satisfaction and loyalty through consistent engagement and superior service delivery.
- k) Regularly assesses market trends, competitor activity, and customer feedback to optimize the sales approach and strategy.
- l) Contributes to budget planning and controls sales-related operating expenses effectively, ensuring cost efficiency and maximum profitability.
Business Scope:
- m) Responsible for achieving annual sales revenue targets across multiple product lines, including assets valued at AED 250 Mn.
- Responsible for managing the current portfolio size of assets worth AED 250 million.
- Accountable for the Profit & Loss target of AED 250 million, while overseeing sales activities across 6 branches to ensure growth and profitability.
Education:
- Bachelor's Degree/ Master's Degree in Business, Finance, or related field.
Experience:
- 10 - 12 years extensive experience in Retail Banking, with at least 5 years in a senior sales leadership role.

- Proven experience of driving banking technology / products/ services to expand a bank's geographic reach and customer base in areas that do not have a significant traditional branch distribution network.
- Demonstrable leadership, decision-making, project management, thought leadership and collaborative skills.
- Evidenced experience of driving positive change, transformation and setting appropriate KPIs and objectives to achieve high performance and overall excellence.
- Ability to manage, motivate and develop multiple teams and managers reporting.
