Project Accountant
The Project Accountant supports Project Managers (PMs) by managing project documentation, cost allocation, and analyzing project profitability in collaboration with finance, estimation, sales, and operations teams.
Ensuring the accuracy of sales and cost data and completeness of project records is essential.
The role involves providing insights and reports to the Financial Manager (FM) and CFO on business performance, inventory, and investment evaluation.
The Project Accountant partners closely with the PM team to offer effective on-ground support.
Key responsibilities include:
Reporting to finance while being seconded to projects
Collaborating with the estimation team to support costing, analyze variances, and review project sales and costs
Assessing project gross margins and identifying items for capitalization
Analyzing inventory aging across warehouses and categories, and proposing write-offs for non-moving inventory
Providing project cost estimates and business case analysis to support pricing and investment decisions
Assisting with month-end reporting for manufacturing entities in RAK and Ras Al Khor
Reconciliation of inventory, work-in-process, and COGS accounts monthly
Tracking raw material prices and posting vendor invoices
The role also supports the finance manager with:
Managing the P&E register, including acquisitions, disposals, and depreciation
Coordinating physical inventory counts with plants
Minimum requirements include proficiency in Navision, MS Dynamics, Power BI, MS Office, and Adobe DC Pro, a Bachelor's degree in accounting and finance, professional certification in Cost & Management Accounting (ACMA, CMA or equivalent), and 3-4 years of relevant experience, preferably in manufacturing or events.
Strong data analytics skills are essential.
